Just bought NOV 21-29, 2020 LAX-LIM for $598 on EXPEDIA. Found it on google flights after seeing an $814 R/T to Sao Paolo. W Skymiles attached to Reservation, it should give a good amount of miles, but I don’t know how to do the calculation since I bought it on Expedia. Seems like a GREAT price to me.

Remember to make sure that your Delta FFN is on the boarding pass. Keep all BPs and follow-up if it doesn't post within a week.
A base Delta flyer on LAX-LIM would earn 16728 RDMs 12546 MQMs 3346 MQDs 5.59 MQD Ratio

can do LAX-JFK-LIM with LAX-JFK nonstop on AS or Delta with a bit more. 787 instead of 767 and with one free stopover at JFK
even cheaper with LAX-JFK on Delta with stop at DFW.

I'm confused why you are saying be careful. In order to fly the 787 with AM you'll need to take the mid-day flight from LAX-MEX which adds an additional 5 hours to the layover (~6.5hr total layover) for a 3 hour flight and then take a 737 for a 6 hour flight. That is basically double the travel time of the direct flight with LATAM in order to get ~3 hours in a lie-flat seat and then having to do the night portion in a domestic first style seat . By better hard product I'm implying that 100% of the travel on LATAM is going to be in a lie-flat seat. Also, the 767 may have been upgraded last year for these routes as well.

ORD-SCL for $1000 - that how much econ usually is. Nice.
Although, the only place I see the fare is bravofly and I'd rather not book through them.

Is overnight layover in MEX doable? Are there any hotels or private rooms in the terminal or does one have to go to a nearby hotel? I am not finding anything in the terminal, but I am sure I am missing something.

If you have 15 hours or longer, I'd just take Metrobus #4 to Centro Historico/Reforma near stops along the bus route.
