QR: JFK to KBP from $1645!

Super hot sale with Qatar Airways from New York to Kiev, Ukraine via Doha. Flight time is of course much longer than a direct flight but you can accumulate tons of American Airlines EQDs and EQMs on this flight.

A base AA flyer would obtain 17512 RDMs 26268 EQMs 3502 EQDs. BA flyers would obtain 21890 Avios and 140 TPs each way for KBP to DOH and 160 TPs each way for JFK-DOH for a grand total of 600 TPs.

They are long layovers, but Kiev is a fascinating city and if I had the time, I'd go back.

Oh this is all about the miles... I tried just a few dates, might be able to get shorter layovers. Also works great to get to Europe on the cheap...

How can an airline charge for a no-show? If you don't book direct from the airline and purchase via OTA, they don't have your cc information. Will Qatar actually bill you between $1-2k for a no show on this? I'm guessing if you don't show and don't pay, you'll be banned? I don't think I have ever seen that.

It effectively just means you’re not going to get a refund if you’re a no show.

no visa required for Ukraine with a US passport. I know of many who have recently gone to Ukraine after watching the HBO miniseries Chernobyl.

i think you don't understand how these things work. if you don't turn up for your fight, bye-bye to your ticket, no refund.

How are you seeing it lower? If anything AmEx seems to be pricing out higher than other OTAs.

To be more specific, if you no-show for your flight and then later want to change to change it to a different date, they will charge you the no-show fee, the change fee and any fare difference which means it is almost certainly much cheaper to just buy a new ticket in most cases.

It is a good way to get to Europe if you have time.

Qsuite as well on the long flight, which is great.

I am a bit surprise you can actually book this as usually you cannot book Ex-Europe to US or reverse

It's extremely mediocre on the EQDs for AA (assuming going for EXP), but pretty sexy for BA tier points going for Gold.
