AA/BA: LAX/SAN/PHX-KRK in Biz ~US$2100 r/t

If you are based in the Southwestern U.S. and are looking to get to Eastern Europe in one world Biz, then this might be a good one to jump on.

Scattered dates through the year. Sample itinerary:

Segments book into I except intra-Europe which book into J.

If you prefer (as I do) to make connection ex-US, can make the return connection through LHR for about $40 more.

This is also available from LAS - can route through a variety of interesting ways. Fare rules say that a stopover is allowed, I believe - nice one, OP!

Several other city pairs throughout Europe for a similar price. LAX/SEA/PDX-BCN/MAD/FCO/NAP/TFS for many dates in July and August. For those wanting to upgrade to First with Avios, SJC-DUB is a nice option. When I looked, more seats showed up on SJC-LHR (and back) than from other West Coast cities. There are two fewer F seats than there were yesterday. My fault, but not sorry

Yeah, I noticed that as well -- SJC-LHR has a lot of upgrade availability. The only problem (minor issue, really) is that the flight is fairly late in the day, arriving in LHR at around 2:30pm local time, where some connections to thin routes will be either long (waiting for evening flights) or spill over to the next day.

They switched the route to a 747 for the summer, so that might have something to do with the added availability. I solved the late arrival problem by taking my stopover at the beginning of the trip. Not really needing to visit Dublin at the moment, so I'm going to head there just a day before returning to the US.

Yeah, I noticed the big metal as well.

I grew up in the Bay Area, just 10 miles as the crow flies from SJC, and lived there most of my life, and I had no idea that the runway and facilities could handle a Jumbo.

so I tried using the AARP discount on BA.com on an all-BA metal (and flight number) and the discount is not applied to the cheapest fare...anyone else see that?

Yes this seems to be happening a lot, now. Chase discount still works, though.

why is it happening though? It's a little deceiving to tout a $200 discount on business then see it applied to certain BA fares. IIRC, this discount was applicable to any BA bizz fare.

You are trying to book it as a true round trip, right? Same origin airport and same destination airport, no stopovers?

I've heard of other people having this problem, I haven't encountered it myself (yet).

yup, LAX-KRK-LAX, roundtrip, no stopovers. Sample date I tried was Aug 7 to Aug 11th, just in case you wanna see for yourself.

Thanks for the conditions btw. Just as I understood it before, conditions doesn't state that certain fares are applicable.
