AA: OSL-LAX-OSL RT mix J/F $4521

Greetings All,

Wanted to check to see if this is a good fare? I think it is able to book BA 380 in F both directions.

Thoughts?

Seeing that it's on BA, their first class isn't that great so I'm not sure this is a good deal.

given that this route you can buy at BA's sale from London for less than £2k I wouldn't consider this to be a very good deal

For just about same price (~$4500 pp) you can do LH or LX in F from BUD-LAX. That's a much better value proposition.

I've flown BA F on the A380. Suffice it to say I was underwhelmed: even with an upgraded soft product, it's still much closer in overall style/comfort to standard international J versus truly top-notch F (e.g. SQ & EY). I'd rank it only marginally better than AA J on planes upgraded to their reverse-herringbone product.

It's also reasonably easy to get a seat in J ex-West Coast for about half that much money, though possibly not between OSL-LAX (or vice-versa). Finally, your best bet in terms of AA EQMs/EQDs is QR: flights between LAX-KUL regularly show up on here for under $2,500, for significantly greater mileage-run possibilities given the necessity of connecting through DOH (nearly 16 hours from LAX).

The mix J/F was a bit misleading - it is an F fare.

However even for that it is more than what is available all year round normally. A couple years ago they had companion fares at $2500 pp in F OSL-LAX. Even LH/LX ex OSL to US is about 4K.

There is nothing spectacular about this. No sane person would book a LAX F fare Ex OSL for USD 4k+

A fare for half this price would pique my interest. Snagged one a couple years back.

Lots of ex-US to Europe in Business in the $2200 range (late July and early August), less with the usual BA discounts. So they do exist.

just pointing out there are some lower premium fares out there right now.

Regardless, I do see several sub $4k F fares out there (at least from my neck of the woods) so agree with others, this not a great fare.

ex-US West Coast? Now you've piqued my interest. I haven't been keeping up as closely as I should on premium deals. I did snag ARN-LAX on BA F for ~US$2.2k a couple years back. I'd book that if it came available again.
