I am considering buying KUL and traveling with my girlfriend, not married couple with 7 hours on the way to KUL in JED. If I remember correctly RUH lounge before flight to CDG many woman did not have anything covering their hair, so I guess there are not some kind of restrictions that could stop us?

asian_crossfitter Mar 13, 2022 3:32 pm

do you know how many XP we can get from ATH-KUL or ATH-BKK flight? I might just buy that flight and then an extra flight to MNL..

MichaelA380 Mar 14, 2022 3:02 am

asian_crossfitter : You will earn XP on SV operated flights if your booking is in classes C, D, I or J. ATH to JED / RUH is "medium" and therefore 15 XP in business one-way. JED / RUH to BKK / KUL is "long 2" and therefore 30 XP in business one-way.

Isn't the additional 50% bonus only applicable if you have AF/FB coded flights? Thanks for this!

There is no bonus applicable here as far as I can judge - the flight must have an AF or KL number and therefore be issued on their stock, which is not possible with this fare.

Athens to Manila for €763
  • Delta base members would earn 12892 RDMs and MQMs and 2578 MQDs 3.16 MQD Ratio on this fare...
  • FlyingBlue members would obtain 15 XPs for ATH-JED and 36 XPs for JED-MNL or 51 XPs total each way for a grand total of 102 XPs...

Any idea how to make a 10 hour lay over in Jeddah more fun?

Will Saudi provide a hotel consideration the long layover and that it's a business flight or are pax just limited to the business lounge?

Haven't heard of any STPC programs with Saudia... probably best option is e-Visa/Visa on Arrival and go into town, (the hours are also pretty bad just enough for hotel, not enough to sightsee)

Official eVisa website: https://visa.visitsaudi.com/

Yes, I thought about that as well and Saudi also provides information on their website:
https://www.saudia.com/before-flying...ormation/evisa

It's funny how they phrase it:

Fly with SAUDIA with a stopover flight and enjoy the privilege of obtaining a transit visa in a seamless and simple process that will give you the chance to have a joyful experience and a delightful stay up to 96 hours in Saudi Arabia!"
Makes you think it's free (or close to it), but still costs the standard 300 SAR (80 USD) plus fees. Since hotels are quite expensive in Jeddah, it wouldn't be a cheap option to spend the layover outside the airport.

I'd be inclined to spend the 10 hour layover in the business lounge. I see it has slumber rooms so perhaps that's the better option in my case.

There are plenty of decent hotels in Jeddah at around 40-60 USD, maybe less if you haggle well.
SV lounge in JED is large and comfy tho important to be out of range of the jet powered AC . Take a sweater and scarf , may come in handy. 24hr F & B service during Ramadan too.

I‘m trying to book one of those fares but all the itinerary fail as soon as they have this flight in it:
https://www.google.com/travel/flight...EoQ3TDot65CoW8

04May22 MED-MLE

The flight looks ok on google flights but is not bookable on saudia.com
And expertflyer shows the seatmap of the flight with all seats empty. In J and in Y.
Anyone has an idea what’s up with this flight and if it is somehow possible to book it ?
thx

Google flight has some weird caching issues. The flights might have been pulled and Google flights has phantom inventory. If it don't show up on Saudia.com then it most likely isn't there. You can try some OTA they might have some inventory that Saudia.com does not want to show. Some of the ATH-MLE routes in may don't show up on Saudia but some OTA are willing to sell the tickets. I don't know if they error out.

Departures from Amman also work (not sure if that was mentioned earlier):
Example: AMM - BOM / USD 796
