Anything in the $2k range from the West Coast to Europe is typically going to last hours, not to whatever the book by date is.

If I'm reading the above correctly, I can fly to CDG on 18Aug the latest but will need to return by 03Sep the latest. Is this correct? (In this case, my stay will be about 2 weeks, which isn't long enough for me.)

No, you can fly other dates, best to go on United's site and play around with dates. (Also interesting that this fare is lower than United's PE fare on the nonstop)

I don't know united, but I know that there is a united.com site and I simply put that in my browser and see this.....

If you depart after August 18th, the fare goes up to $3000.

Phenomenal for the nonstop in late summer. Though not sure I want UA miles anymore.
