Example of CDG-AKL return
Valid from many French starting points ( try BOD, NCE, LYS for example).
Looks like SYD/MEL also included.
Can also get the HKG-AKL on CX.
Have a play around with Matrix and Google flights and see if you can find something that works.

These are great prices and I find them available all year round, BUT the Swiss and LH legs are in P booking class so are bad mileage earners.

Ah, I’m 100% a OW, rather than *A, flier, so good info.

Has anyone been able to book this?

I found a good option (*A only carriers) but SWISS and OTA keep coming up thousands more.

Half-Business, Half-First - CDG-AKL R/T

Managed to buy a CDG-SIN-AKL R/T on LX/SQ with the outbounds in P and the inbounds in A & J for 3300€ (2919GBP).
I understand that P is a relatively poor miles earner (100% with LX Miles & More, 0 with LH?) so am looking for another FF program. I am a OW / ST guy so have very little clue as to which Star Alliance FF is optimal for this trip. Any help or hint or direction very much appreciated.

Never used it myself (I’m mostly OW/BAEC), but this looks like quite a handy tool. Hover over the tier 1/2/3 columns and it specifies exactly which tier in which scheme, quite clever I thought.

We just booked 4x passengers from CGD to AKL in February on UA.com (getting 016- tickets and United PQDs.)

It took a few calls and lots of tries to get the right combo that would price and ticket. But at ~$3000/person we are happy with the fights.

A travel agent should be able to help. I checked Virtuoso flights and the rate is similar to Google Flights ($2500-2700).

Nice. I can't seem to price this with F combination. Where were you able to book A and any sample routing with F segments? Anyone able to book most or all segments in A? Appreciate it, thanks.

I assume you meant "D" on SQ as "P" would be Y+?

Hi.
Watch AirChina premium fares...
Some monthes before I saw CDG-AKL business class for 1700€ RT with one stop in PEK ! With long layover BUT free visa and free 5* accomodation ! (LX dont do that in SIN!)
But Business class seat map on AC is 2-2-2 ...

We needed the United PQDs - so even without a single UA metal flight, we managed. The $2300-2900 fares wouldn't price out - even when calling a reservation specialist.

Was this for Feb 2019 or Feb 2020, because in 2020, PQD's no longer exist

ricardojrsousa Oct 13, 2019 4:18 am

I've booked it earlier in the year. Was able to price it via Expedia with mulri-city rather than return.
Limited availability back then and I'm assuming now.

Hi, is this fare still alive? I tried feb and march 2020 Paris-Sin-AKL-Sin-Paris dates but priced $4500 for J class, F class is $10K+. What OTA or Airline site you use? Thanks for the help

https://www.google.com/flights#flt=C...2*2.EUR.229192

2300 EUR / 2539 USD (Cathay on the way back incl).
This is, for me, a very good price for an otherwise very long trip.
You might want to play with dates so you get a more optimal price and/or route.

I was for Feb 2020 but booked before the announcement of the changes.

I feel ripped off by United. For sure!

They “changed” your ticket. Call them and see if you can cancel, assuming you can find something better on a partner.

If I book the Swiss/Cathay combo, can I claim the Cathay Pacific miles in BAEC and the Swiss miles on MileagePlus?

oliver2002 Oct 17, 2019 4:38 am

Only if the CX flights are in the ticket under CX flight number and not LH/LX codeshares operated by CX.

mileageking Oct 21, 2019 12:18 pm

Anyone able to book ZRH/FRA-SIN and return segment on SQ metal in F (or even J)?
