Nice, I was searching from the West Coast since it leads to higher MQD Ratios... But good to know it also works from the East Coast...

Im finding deals with Virgin Atlantic and KLM/AF combined on a leg. So hopefully the MQMs will be as good? Iím not an expert yet on counting MQMs/MQDs yet. 🥺

Example

the pricing went up since morning and dates have fluctuated too...:

Virgin Atlantic is great for Delta flyers as they usually credit at 150% and 40% MQDs!

Already gone? Your link now prices at $3488.

ETA: But adding CDG gives the ~$2k price SFO-CDG . . . and an AF 777 nonstop at that!

Yes...unfortunately even from IAD....as I mentioned early, prices have fluctuated big time. Unless you stay for 3 weeks. Guess need to check on and off, hopefully it will pop up again.

#jfkeze what is the basic math on how to calculate MQMs...and MQDs if you donít mind me asking?

like the Virgin Atlantic flight portion is IAD-LHR

Miles is about: 3685

Do I add/minus/times/divide etc ....to get the 150% MQMs total for the segment?

3685 x (times) / (divide) - (minus) + (add) 150% =

Same for MQDs, do I add/minus/times/divide to get the number?

3685 x / - + 40% =

The formula for MQMs is: miles flown x earn rate. Per your example, 3685 x 1.5 = 5527 MQMs
The formula for MQDs is: miles flown x earn rate. Per your example, 3685 x 0.4 = 1474 MQDs

Its a pretty simple calculation. No need to divide or add anything.

Be careful if VS flights are involved. You earn DL miles on VS operated flights only if they're either sold under their native VS flight number or as DL codeshares. If it's a AF or KLM codeshare, you get nothing on DL (because VS isn't (yet) a SkyTeam member, only a bilateral partner of DL and of AF/KLM).

Some not too shabby fares ex-Europe as well!
(works in both directions, in some cases, for some dates, requires a bit of playing around)

Data point: I flew VS recently (earlier this month) TATL on a KL codeshare flight crediting to Delta. It did not post initially, but after I submitted a manual mileage request following the 7-day partner default posting period, it has now posted.

Maybe the new partnership has been implemented on the earning side now?
