Sichuan: LAX-MEL from $2,504!

Sichuan Airlines is not part of any alliance and has an inferior Business Class product but at this price point from Los Angeles to Australia it might be of use to some...

With no airline affiliations and a need to obtain a Chinese visa, this will be a hard sell.

I didn't put lipstick on a pig... The XMN deal to SYD was more attractive but to MEL this was the best fare I saw ex-LAX...

With 2-3-2 business class seating on an A330, I would agree with the phrase "inferior Business Class product". Disclaimer: I have never flown on this airline.

But IMO, airfare ~$2500 from LAX to OZ is actually pretty good for PE.

The TPAC is on their new Airbus 350s... Sam Chui had a video review... it's not a bad product... the 330 is oldish to call it nicely...

i'm not criticizing, just pointing out that this itinerary INDEED requires a Chinese visa. No visa free transiting. That's a big showstopper for most.

I found that on one of the seat map sites. Looked strange to me. That's why I commented on it.

Multiple typos on that page including the same seat numbers replicated in each row! (the 'J' seats appear twice each).

Why would this need a visa?

24-hour TWOV should cover this (multiple stops within China permitted provided shceduled time of arrival at first port of entry until scheduled time at last port of departure does not exceed 24 hours).

24 hour TWOV is not permitted at TXN airport. This itinerary is transit via TNA.
