It's lie-flat only on the 737-9 MAX, so flights in august most likely will have the older business class seats I guess.

That is correct, however as FaBSy pointed, Copa's lie flat are only in 737 Max, which is still grounded world wide and unlikely to be flying in the next couple of months.

I got excited until I found the price quoted was in USD, not CAD.

As pointed out in the sticky, please specify the currency for the deals departing from the countries not using USD as their official currency.

$ can mean either one, and since the origin is YVR, I think it's more reasonable to assume CAD than USD. (Though the generally accepted form is also $600, not 600$.)

Even Mexico uses $ to mean MXN. $ doesn't only mean USD.
  • Try to state the price in a the local currency that the ticket is offered in. In the case of a less familiar currency, try also to convert the price to one or more of the global standard currencies like EUR, GBP, USD or JPY.
J fares from Canada to central America and Mexico are often USD 600+, nothing to write home about.

I've often seen CAD written in the forum. The dollar sign is almost always used to mean dollars and nothing else.

To us canadians the $ sign could mean either USD or CAD, it should be clarified if the starting point is in Canada for a MR

Dollar (often represented by the dollar sign $) is the name of more than 20 currencies, including those of Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Liberia, Namibia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States.

The flight departs from Canada, it is fairly reasonable to assume said price is in Canadian dollars.

I think it is time to move on from the currency issue, eh? As a Canadian who looks at things on the internet, my reflex is always to assume currency with a $ is USD unless otherwise stated. We're next door and 1/10 of the population, not to mention usually more internationally aware than our neighbours.

All anybody lost here is a few clicks and a suffered a small disappointment.
