for most of the South American departures, for some reason the final price isn’t shown until the final step of booking. Thevtaxes I saw were in the $150 range
i simply didn’t have the time or will power to get to the final step for all of those routes.

Just found BA direct flights from LHR - LAX using IB codeshare for £488 in PE.

Sample dates 3rd-13rd October and booking through OTA travel up. Searched via Skyscanner.

Most people probably know this but for the few that don't:

BA has a lowest fare calender page under discover/ offer & deals / find our cheapest fares. I believe it is neccesary to go to the country of departure homepage first.

They also have a Best Rate Guarantee : BA BRG

Thanks for this. I booked LHR - SFO rt in October for £428 (£856 for 2) in WTP with IB code earlier on today:) Got ticketed but it must have been a bug fare as I've never seen it so cheap before departing London. Now it seems to be back at around the usual £850 pp.

glad you could use. I was searching for a colleague (not in the points and premium travel game) and said that these fares from London were rare (stopped short of saying error) and that she should book soon before they are gone. I fear she may have pondered to long.....
