Sorry, my bad, i was confusing screens where i had dumped the horrendously large YQ as per the thread noting how you can add ROM-KIX (in Y) onto a one of these to get a lower priced one way. My bad, that dumped the $600 per direction YQ when combined with an IB ticked one way. See other thread for more info.

I second that Brugge is great place to visit. Ghent also pretty cool.

While this flight is MR for me connecting via ATL, I booked addl family members RT at 128k for D1 and 58k for Coach tix (from ATL w/o my positioning flight) so this will be low cost getaway. NICE when it works that way.

I managed to get it ticketed Dec 23-Jan 3 but past Dec 27 I had no luck.

What is crazy is that main cabin fares go for $4500!!
I'm going to be on that flight (ex-LAS) too, haha. See you there!

Didn't realize the open jaw/direct flight to AMS was possible but cant find it for that $1480ish price after Dec 25 and I have to be at home for Christmas. Oh well, still a great deal!

Can depart as late as January 3, 2020, and come back on the 10th.

If feeling nostalgia, can also route to LAX and catch the 744.

Helped a Skyteam coworker book this. Here's some lessons learned.

DTW - AMS is the only A350 route to Europe for the summer valid fare window. If you're looking for the holidays, ATL-AMS should be available and possibly ATL-CDG. For those struggling with finding A350 availability, specifying DTW and AMS in the routing will give you the right connections, though there is also an A330 flight.

KLM flying LAS-AMS 3x weekly on a 787. There is also SLC-AMS on a 787. LAS-SLC-AMS-BRU is a valid routing for a few more miles to get more 787 time.

Amex through IAP couldn't ticket the A350 routing we fed them, instead settling for 787's in both directions. Inclusive of booking fee (no OJ's) we ended up at ~1440. I was unaware of this program prior to this thread. Thank you all for the education.

Thanks, OP!

I booked something similar to this through the AMEX program:

Instead of paying $1,713 I used the AMEX IAP to pay only $1,443. I had to try the online AMEX travel booking site multiple times. I got errors, and my first successful booking changed my routing from AMS to JFK. But I persisted and eventually I got what I wanted. Took about one hour to try different little minor changes with my flights. I had my dates all picked out from using the Matrix.

I ended up with: All KLM flights; direct from Las Vegas to Amsterdam on a 787 both directions. I could not book a long layover in AMS like in the picture above.

I expect 17,568 MQMs since this is 150% of the distance. This works out to $0.082 USD per MQM.

This is the first deal I have found to Europe! I got two tickets... my wife is going with me to Brussels. Thanks again, OP!

Thanks for the find and share! I got in on this as well and was able to schedule a weekend MR out of it! Aug 16-18 LAS-SLC-AMS-BRU-JFK-LAX-LAS. Accruing almost 19000 MQM's and about $1500 MQD's. Get to fly KLM's 787 J class from SLC-AMS too which will be a first for me on that aircraft. Thanks again OP!
