Lh py: Edi/gla/bhx-eze $860/£661

FRA-EZE books into N, short-haul sectors book into Y. Possible to book an extremely tight connection (65-70 min) and for reasons beyond the airline's control misconnect at FRA. GF into eDreams, Expedia and probably some other OTAs, so adding on a hotel may drive the price down a bit more.

Min stay: Sunday
Purchase before 24 APR

Base price 776 EUR from GLA = 19395 status miles
Surcharge for extra connection in MUC/DUS 37 EUR = extra 2500 status miles

Thank you

I'm confused by your math - How are you getting 19k status miles for GLA-FRA-EZE RT in an N fare? And how do you come up with an extra 2,500 status miles by harvesting an extra connection?!?

65-70 min is not an "extremely tight connection" at FRA - perfectly doable even with a slight delay of the incoming flight from the UK.

OP, why would you book intentionally a flight with less than MCT at FRA?

EU 261 duty of care and compensation. It is not less than MCT, but a delay with the inbound increases the chances of misconnection.

Thanks OP! how does LH take care of you if you indeed misconnect for causes attributable to them? any experiences you can share with us?

Something like this. They'll put you on the next possible LH group routing, but since it's EZE that'd be a full day later. You have to write many emails to get the compensation. When you apply that against the cost of the mileage run to begin with, it's quite an attractive proposition.

You will be rebooked to the LH flight the following day and LH will book you a hotel in the vicinity of FRA airport, including breakfast (and maybe an add. meal). Depending on the reason for delay, you may be eligible for EUR 600 comp. but expect to fight for it (LH is notorious for denying even legitimate EU reg. 261/04 claims at first).

FRA-EZE = 7133 miles, N multiplier 1x, with 25% bonus that is 17832 miles for the round trip.
The rest is european connection i Y class (roundtrip)

Extra connection gives you 1250 miles each way.

You must be talking redeemable miles, not status miles?
How does changing a flight to go from GLA-FRA-EZE to, instead, go GLA-DUS-FRA-EZE add 1,250 status miles?

Even if you went the long way - Dusseldorf - Glasgow - Frankfurt, that's only 2,500 miles Round Trip, so that could be how you're getting your 2,500 miles, but you're ignoring the fact that you'd get 1,350 miles with the original GLA-FRA itinerary... so it's not an EXTRA 2,500 miles for $37

GLA-FRA = International European Flight = 1250 miles + 25% bonus

versus

GLA-DUS = International European Flight = 1250 miles + 25% bonus
DUS-FRA = Domestic German Flight = 1000 miles + 25% bonus

I see a clear difference of 1250 miles each way, for 2500 miles total.

Are you sure you know how status miles with LH work?

Also available for BOG. As some other current fares, routing through EZE is possible. Books into W for the last leg with Avianca. Obviously not easy to ticket this, but ends up with 3,3 cpm with M&M.
