Spotted on flights:

You folks on FT are no fun! To be read: different country but with privileges for fellow citizens (i.e. Kiwis don't have the hassles fellow commonwealth citizens have whilst transiting in Australia). Similar to how I refer to flights between Canada and the US as being domestic since the US extends privileges to Canadians travelling to the US.
Side note, there are also some deals to the west coast ex-Kiwiland:
WLG>SFO for $5000 NZD on QF/AA:
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...6*2.USD.342166
There was also a scattering of NZ/UA deals throughout 2019 to the left coast from Kiwiland!

Great find - that's a fantastic ex-NZ price, wish I could get a ex-IAD flight for a similar price later in the year.
Last time I checked, little bilateral appetite for SYD and WLG to be in the same country
