CA did so for me this year, I showed them my LH ticket from my email at PEK, and they interlined my bags to LHR, the thing is they can only do it from PEK, possibly PVG too. The outstation staff at AKL/SYD will not do it for you. If your layover is long enough, you may let the checkin agent at AKL or SYD send your bags to PEK or PVG, then you ask CA in China to interline your bags to your final destination (your LH ticket class doesn’t matter, even it is economy or basic).

Data point:

CA in AKL (handled by NZ) - request rejecked
CA in MEL (handled by QF) - no issues
CA in PEK & CTU (obviously handled by CA) - no issues

I have seen this in a similar circumstance on a three sector journey that was MU/AF on a single ticket, Qingdao - Shanghai - Paris - London. The staff at Qingdao were unable to check baggage beyond Paris, even the station manager for MU was unable to resolve. The ticket holder didn't have a Schengen visa to be able to collect and recheck bags at Paris, and wouldn't have had the time as the connection was short. It was resolved in Shanghai after a bit of pressure on MU staff to retag the bag through to London.

Although it doesn't make any sense, it appears that Chinese carriers sometimes cannot tag a bag for more than two sectors?

This current (just finished) round for 1478 was available for the summer school holidays in Europe, which is what they were after.
As expected sale is back for BLACK FRIDAY, Australia From Germany at Euro 1477.00 and lots other destinations in Asia at 1118.00.

I've had no luck from any German city to any Australian city today. Looking at April/May next year but nothing! Is anyone else having any better luck?

Just check your dates... for the period you are looking at, outbound travel is only permitted march 27 to april 12.

UPDATE found those flights Spike!! Now i just need to see if I can get them to Brisbane instead.
