TG PEN-DXB J Class for USD 1,250+ - Good deal?

Found these fares for pretty much all of this year on TG, class J. Curious if it's a good deal at all or normal?

BKK-DXB in A350

not the best deal, unless u r looking for *A miles. UL (Sri Lankan) typically has some great deals to DXB.

Does Thai Smile credit to other Star Alliance programs?

It’s marketed by TG, so should be able to credit to any other *A programs?

Unless it has changed recently, even buying it under TG codeshare, you do not get *G benefits so I doubt you get miles

I think it is expensive. From that region to DXB what is considered as a deal is to have fares sub-par $ 1000

Oh how I miss those $900+ fares to KUL-IKA when TG was still flying to Iran.

Metal

For Star-Alliance, it has always been the Metal that counts.

Thai-smile is not part of *A group, so only credits to TG's own programme.

This used to be available ex KL as well and you were able to book all TG flights.

It's not expensive. $1250 rt in J is pretty much par for the course these days especially on a first tier carrier.
