Thanks for posting, this is a really good fare for UA. It has been hard to find anything under 3k the last six weeks. I really could have used this two weeks ago.

Yes, if you fly in Polaris business long haul on any leg you can use the Polaris lounges all along the way. I have accessed ORD and SFO or EWR and SFO while traveling to CTU.

There are comments on here about UA having having trouble filling the business class cabin. I business is usually full or close to full. Of course that tells us nothing of the yield. The XIY flight was similarly full in business and that flight did not make it past its first year.

Interestingly there is a CTU-YVR fare on UA too, the base fare is lower (US$1503++) than the CTU-NYC fare but for the routings I pulled up there was a higher YQ and so the YVR fare is still around US$2k. Oddness.

its tough to get a low fare without some nasty layovers going to EWR on the way back its 10hrs in SFO. But all in, on United I can get it as low as $2,042us march 8-13

Well it looks like UA is at it again with a fare sale (perhaps responding in kind to CA undercutting them on SFO > PEK routes).

CTU to LGA from $1961 in J on UA:
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...9*2.CAD.257939

CTU to ORD from $1875 in J on UA
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...4*2.USD.187484

CTU to SFO from $1585 in J on UA
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...6*2.USD.158496

CTU to HNL from $1932 in J/F on UA:
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...8*2.USD.193168

Scattered availability through March.

No doubt there are other cities available too which people will run circles around me with

Hope this provides marginal value!

Safe Travels,

James

CA and UA have little reasons to undercut each other, especially given they revenue share on some common routes - e.g. between SFO and PEK.

I am trying out HU for the first time next year. Look forward to heading back to ORD from CTU on a non-stop flight.

so you book your flights based on the flight numbers instead of fares or itineraries?

not really, it is just people think it is great when it comes to that. Also I know people who actually avoid flights ending with 4, especially 14 and 54

UA CTU/SZX-NYC P $2,023

CTU-NYC PLE0ZGC3 base fare CNY11,000
SZX-NYC PLE00Q3P base fare CNY11,800

GF/ ITAMatrix still don't fully appreciate how liberal the routing rules at this stage, so probably neither do OTAs. TPAC must be UA marketed and operated.
