Thanks for posting, this is a really good fare for UA. It has been hard to find anything under 3k the last six weeks. I really could have used this two weeks ago.
Yes, if you fly in Polaris business long haul on any leg you can use the Polaris lounges all along the way. I have accessed ORD and SFO or EWR and SFO while traveling to CTU.
There are comments on here about UA having having trouble filling the business class cabin. I business is usually full or close to full. Of course that tells us nothing of the yield. The XIY flight was similarly full in business and that flight did not make it past its first year.
True although the new fare I posted in this thread has you connect solely at SFO instead, allowing you to avail yourself of the Polaris lounges at both SFO and EWR (I'm guessing a pax flying that route could access the EWR PL on arrival from SFO given they were on a Polaris itinerary?)

Interestingly there is a CTU-YVR fare on UA too, the base fare is lower (US$1503++) than the CTU-NYC fare but for the routings I pulled up there was a higher YQ and so the YVR fare is still around US$2k. Oddness.

Updating this thread since I've received complaints that the deal had too many stopovers. Here's a one stop over solution in both directions with a decent enough layover in SFO to allow you to enjoy the Polaris lounge after clearing customs

Well it looks like UA is at it again with a fare sale (perhaps responding in kind to CA undercutting them on SFO > PEK routes).
