I suspect this is a good deal:
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...7*2.EUR.242157
All segments on SQ metal with connections at DME and SIN. Can't comment on the quality of SQ's J product as I only fly k fares with them. Fairly wide availability.
Also possible to fly AI to SYD on a OW fare in J for <1,200 EUR:
https://www.google.com/flights?lite=...p:2.EUR.116596
Safe Travels,
James

Thanks for sharing - a good deal on SQ but you can fly with Etihad if preferred for up to €300 less on a round trip from the same departure point.

Yes, the fare was a one-way as I had earlier booked F-class EK tickets to Europe via my Qantas account.
My travel was for mid-October. I was initially looking at fares from BEG and noticed that all former Yugoslav departure points (BEG/LJU/DBV/ZAG) seem to have good ex-Europe one-way fares on LH/SQ/LX via FRA/MUC and ZRH and there seemed plenty availability.

Harvested from Google flights which pointed me in the direction of Expedia.de. I offered this fare to my travel agent to book using the Matrix fare construction info but she was unable. She also mentioned that it had to be ticketed by Air NZ Germany (hence the Expedia option) - don't use the Air NZ Germany website as fares are twice this price.

You are welcome. Actually, I realised I booked my fare to Palmerston North and not AKL. So the fare includes a domestic add-on. You may therefore find it a little cheaper if your final destination is AKL, or you may actually prefer to continue to some of our great little towns. The add-on is usually about EUR 80 one way.
Be aware that the NZ flight gets into AKL very late so you have to head off to a hotel for the first night. I am crashing in the AKL Novotel, a very short walk from the internaitonal arrivals hall. But It does represent poor value for money and cashes in on convenience.
Good luck.
