For those of you who've done this recently, how long is the recommended connection time between your positioning flight and your first / last flight? I am currently looking at 2 hours but wondering if it's sufficient to go through immigration, pick up my bags and recheck them again

Just an fyi on this fare (which still requires ticketing in Myanmar)... JL seems to have zeroed out inventory on their codeshare segments between RGN and BKK (operated by PG). Bangkok Airways is still showing availability on those same flights, but the JL codeshares are showing 0, effective pretty much immediately. Perhaps it is a short-time thing while they adjust IT systems or something, but I wanted to let folks know in case they have those segments ticketed as JL.

On my inbound from LAX, I'll have 22hrs layover time at BKK. Do you think it would be possible that check-in agent at LAX would let me check my luggage only to BKK, provided it's an overnight layover anyway?
The Thailand departure tax (TS) was already charged with my ticket, which technically suggest exiting and checking-in again as it normally will not be charged for transit passengers.
The Thailand departure tax (TS) was already charged with my ticket, which technically suggest exiting and checking-in again as it normally will not be charged for transit passengers.

Two ways...
1. They booked while it still did not have the SOTO ticketing restrictions (before it was limited to Myanmar POS)
2. For local brick-and-mortar OTA in Yangon.....

Still active as far as I can tell. For example, the fare is still showing in ExpertFlyer. The "must be ticketed in Myanmar" restriction makes it a bit more difficult than most.
