Good find. ^ Only works on CheapOAir and OneTravel but not on XP. Is this a bulk fare?

I didn't think flying China Eastern was that bad, especially for the price. It is not 4 or 5 stars, but the hard product is descent.

If you search China Eastern (MU) on Boarding Area, for example, you'll find a number of cautionary tales about them, most dealing with MU FAs disappearing for the rest of the flight immediately after meal service and intermittent smoking on the flights. There are many theories as to whether it's the pilots in the cockpit, crew up in the berthing area, both of those, or something else.

I flew them twice last year in Y, smelled smoke for a few minutes while sitting toward the back of the plane on one leg of 4; t'was probably coming from the aft crew rest area. Overall I found the flights to be fine. As I recall the food was okay, I got what I needed, and I was able to sleep.

My one cautionary story is that I had to sweet talk the supervisor at the check in desks to issue my BP at the tail end of the check in process for the previous flight (~1700 if I recall correctly) to issue me a BP for my 0100 departure the next AM so that I could get through security and into a lounge, otherwise I was going to have to wait in food court area of JFK for 6 plus hours because of how early my positioning flight arrived - lesson to the wise. He very nicely hooked me up.

I ended up spending several hours in the Alitalia lounge (on my Priority Pass card) - total dive at the time and it hasn't improved, from what I hear. But, I didn't find any other lounge available in that terminal and I sure wasn't leaving it.

Bottom line, I think MU is an okay way to rack up some serious Delta MQMs/MQDs. I plan to fly them in J someday.
