Just pulled the trigger. Oct 12th next year, $501. Too good to pass on, plus I have always wanted to visit Meroe and scuba dive in Port Sudan. This is likely when having two passports will come handy

Hi I booked through Kayak using the link in the first post and just changing dates. Was able to select seats on GF but have not tried for AC. I booked only one way and via LHR as I am genuinely interested to go to Sudan next year

I ended up ticketing through priceline -- note that GF does not allow amex unfortunately so I had to use another card with adequate travel insurance.
You can price it up through ITA matrix and then use ITA powertools or bookwithmatrix to force it through -- I was able to get to payment page on aa.com through powertools however priceline came up cheaper (even cheaper than what ITA was showing).
Using ITA will show you all the dates it's available -- I'm not sure why but there are some days it just doesn't work.

ITA actually just says no flights found when I force the faring (f gf.krt+yyz.clowsd) and carriers (o:gf,ac+). If you'd be so kind as to share how you searched I'd def appreciate it!
