Reverse Fare on BA can be found for $1800. Really nice price, IMHO.

Exactly. If I could do LAX-HEL-LAX, I think I'd buy one of these for an upcoming trip to Europe, and just buy the other parts separately. But SVO really complicates the situation.

I'm aware for Brits and Americans, the processing time is now longer than it used to be, thank you Trump/May/Putin etc, but realistically, it's not that hard at all. Although agencies are highly recommended just to save the hassle.

On the assumption you're American, that sounds about right since the US charges Russians that price for US visas.

Russian Visa Fees for US Citizens

It is a bummer that my visa to Russia is expiring this year. And while I thought (and created this thread) that it was a great deal to route via Moscow, I am not so sure any more. The visa fees for US citizens are now:

$123/single entry
$177/double entry
$303/multiple 3 year entry

The costs have nearly doubled for the visa. And since I am routing from Moscow, I need multiple entries for departure and return and so it looks like I need to suck up the $303. I have always wanted to visit St. Petersburg so now that I am paying $303 I suppose I am a bit motivated to get my monies worth out of the visa. $303 is just way too much, though, IMHO. My booty hurts.

As I stated above BA RT flights in J ex Moscow and St. Petersburg to USA west coast are $1800-$1900. A great deal. For positioning I've found return business flights on Lufthansa out of LHR to DME for under $350.

Great fares! makes me appreciate having a second passport that allows visa free entries to countries that are generally difficult to get to for US passport holders.
Works also to LED on both directions. With the train to Helsinki, might be easier to position.
