Air China also seems to have deals for LAX to Shanghai in business class for 1872 to 2272 US dollars for various dates up until April 2019.

Thanks for this. Good fare (especially from CH). Seems to work to most places in Asia and you can throw a stopover in free of charge (do it on CA website rather than google flights for an accurate price). Will use this to go skiing in CTS with by friend who lives in BSL

Working this side of the new year for the same price (but with an extra stop in FRA or MUC). Can force a stopover in CTU for the pandas. NRT works as a destination too.

Most places in Asia work: HKG, SIN, TYO, KIX, KUL etc.

Bookable via GDS, OTA and CA website. Book by 30SEP, travel by 30JUN. Some black-out dates in October. Otherwise wide availability.

Can route on direct ZRH-PEK flight or via VIE/MUC/FRA.

I do have a reservation ZRH-PEK-BKK//SIN-PEK-ZRH....now the question is if we really want to spend 17h with them....got spoiled by SQ on our recent Asia trips.

I booked ZRH-PEK-HKG rt. for CHF1550. Connections in PEK are okay and the price is hard to beat.

I flew 2 Asia returns with CA last year on similar fares. They are a perfectly solid airline, a bit like the LH of Asia: Boring, reliable, unspectacular. It's not SQ but it does the trick.

Haha yes! Good way to describe them. The food is edible. The champagne is chilled. The bed is comfortable and full flat. For the price they are great value.

I looked at the Fare Rules and it seems they forgot to add an option to use LX or OS. You can only use LH (and LH does not fly CH-VIE)

You have to force matrix to CA flights, either with the control options (CA+) or with a routing via FRA - CTU for example...
