AA LAX-SJU RT First Class for $735.00

Cheap RT FC on AA LAX - SJU is back. Not the most romantic of MR's, but easy and can be worth 13.5K- 14.4K EQM's depending on the routing. EQD is only around 600ish. But if you're like me and need some fast, easy, runs these would be worth a look.
Multiple dates available before the end of the year. If you've got the EQD's covered, these can get you the EQM's. I've got 3 lined up, about 40K EQM for $2200 all in, doing each RT in 24hrs. Cheers!

This is a nice QF SC run as well - 360 SC's at about $2/SC if you do 3 segments each way. Unfortunately availability is pretty limited at this price and often involves some nasty redeyes.

If you're worried about EQD's, check to see if you can book the flight as a special fare through Chase/Citi/AMEX travel portals. Special fares earn EQDs as 20% of the flown distance. LAX-DFW-MIA-SJU RT is 6,802 miles so you'd earn $1,360 EQDs if you book as a special fare.

Do the fare rules allow from free stop overs?

Routing rules for all the AA variants (all I fares) specifiy routing LAX-CLT/DFW-MIA-SJU. So no go on either LAX-MIA direct or routing thru JFK.

Ugh, boo. I recently got CMB-WAS to go CMB-HKG-LAX-JFK-DCA with HKG-LAX-JFK on AA Flagship, so I now have eternal hope that every usable 1W fare will allow transcon flaship routing.

Does anyone have any experience with short connections at MIA? I'm looking at a 57 mins connection for the flight to SJU. Is that ok?

and that assumes your flight arrives on time into MIA. 57 minutes too close to call for me, I reckon minimum 2 hours in MIA, especially if you are there on a Friday afternoon and if you have checked baggage, no chance, it's MIA, no one speak englese

Ok fair enough. I just booked it so I can change it up. I'm doing a turnaround at SJU. I will be hand baggage only. The other option I have is a shorter connection time in DFW. Is that better?

For domestic flights (no C&I for Puerto Rico) a 57 minute connection at MIA is fine. If your inbound flight is on time you should have no problem making your next flight. International arrivals is a totally different animal, but that's not relevant here.

Looks like all availability is weekday, unfortunately. With positioning, many would be looking at having to take 2-3 days off of work to make this run.

For BA fliers, you can get 220 TP for $370 in either direction by routing through both CLT and MIA.

This routing rule does not mean that the LAX-MIA nonstop is a no go. All the intermediate points are optional. LAX-SJU nonstop is ok. LAX-DFW-SJU is ok, etc. JFK is out, that's true.
