BA: LHR-CPT First £2025pp return (2 pax)

Dream Ticket offer (whatever that is).

Cape Town - Companion fare in First
Book two tickets to Cape Town in First, travelling in January, February or March, and receive two tickets for the price of one.
Flights in First (per person) from £2026 return
Worded a little generously when you read it on the website which implies it's £2025 per person, buy one get one free.

Availability is fair (books into A) in Jan and Feb, looks to be bookable:

A word of warning, it's a deep discount for First and a similar percentage discount to the TLV BA fares which were pulled and tickets cancelled.

Return Avios earning in A class:
  • Blue: 30,096
  • Bronze: 33,106
  • Silver: 36,116
  • Gold: 42,134
TPs: 480 return (Ultra long haul)

Depending on how you value TPs (£1) and Avios (1p), that's a net fare as a Gold of £1124 return including Avios and TPs, or £1604 return including just Avios

The same valuation of a redemption using a companion voucher (i.e. Avios @ 1p + taxes, fees and charges) is £1601 return in peak and £1450 return off-peak, so this fare comes in squarely the same as a peak redemption for a gold - but with no issues with availability and TPs to boot.

Terms:
  1. By taking part in this promotion, Participants confirm that they accept the terms and conditions set out below.
  2. Flight price of £4,052 per couple (£2,026 per person) in First class is subject to limited availability. All promotional fares quoted from London Heathrow are operated by British Airways. Price is based on the lowest available return flights worldwide available at this time. To qualify, both passengers must be booked together at the same time and on the same booking reference.
  3. Prices include all taxes, fees and carrier charges, correct as of 4 July 2018.
  4. Flights must be booked between 12:00 GMT 4 July 2018 and 23:59 GMT 18 July 2018 (the “Booking Period”) for selected travel between 01 January 2019 to 31 March 2019. All travel must be completed by 31 March.
  5. This promotion applies to return First class tickets booked during the booking period to Cape Town.
  6. Individual travel dates are subject to availability. Promotional travel is subject to availability and capacity control, and availability may be limited over bank holidays and peak periods. The number of seats available on each flight at a particular fare may be restricted and it is possible that seats allocated to a particular fare on a particular flight may be fully booked even though seats are still available for sale at a different fare or booking class in the same cabin.
  7. The promotion applies only to flights on the routes specified at ba.com/dream-tickets. The promotion does not apply to travel on any other BA franchisee or alliance airline, or any flight operated by a codeshare partner.
  8. Stop-overs are not permitted. Promotional flights are non-refundable and non-changeable. The date of departure is determined by the local date and time of the departing country.
  9. Promotional travel must be booked, ticketed, started and finished in the UK.
  10. Promotion does not apply group bookings (10 or more passengers in one booking)
  11. Payment must be made in full at the time of booking. If booking direct with BA via telephone on 0844 493 0763 or online at www.ba.com, payment by cheque will not be accepted. Bookings made over the telephone will carry a non-refundable £5 offline booking fee per person per ticket. Calls cost up to 5p per minute from a BT landline. Calls from mobiles may vary.
  12. Please note that some credit card issuers will not permit payment for air travel from the UK to be paid for on credit cards that they have issued if the billing address is outside the UK. BA does not accept responsibility for the refusal of any card issuer to allow use of its cards for payment. Prices are based on debit card payments. BA applies a charge for other payment methods, including credit cards and Paypal.
  13. No cash or credit alternative is available. This promotion has no cash value.
  14. This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, promotion, or deal, including but not limited to: (i) redemption bookings; (ii) travel agent or industry discount fares (including but not limited to agency, industry and employee discounts), inclusive holidays, group discount fares, children/infant fares, or senior citizen fares, whether or not booked in the qualifying classes; (iii) bookings made with vouchers (eg shareholder’s discount vouchers); or (iv) upgrades.
  15. All travel on BA flights is subject to BA's General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage (see ba.com) and the notice and conditions of contract contained on each ticket and itinerary. Iberia and American Airlines are subject to the conditions of carriage of the relevant carrier. Promotional materials form part of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions shall prevail if there is any conflict between these and the promotional materials.
  16. BA reserves the right to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this promotion and any tickets or vouchers issued free or at promotional prices in the event of major catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, strike, earthquake or any actual anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of BA.
  17. British Airways is not liable for the reproduction of this offer or indirect access via third party websites of these terms and where such reproduction misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with this promotion.
  18. This promotion, and any non contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with it, is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
  19. Promoter is British Airways Plc (“BA”), Waterside, PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, UB7 0GB. Registered No. 1777777 England.

Hmm, the link says this promotion is no longer valid, but the flights are very bookable on the BA website. The price and T&C's are set out very clearly above, so it's hard for them to justify saying it's a mistake fare when they've set it out like that.

Where does the link say it's no longer valid - I've just checked and it seems ok?

For a little more (£1164 rather than £1100 outbound) you can get LHR-JNB-CPT, which nets the A380 and T5 Concorde Room (ok, you'll have to suffer the 737 Comair flight, but you can then fly CPT-LHR T3 direct back on the 747).

Too much overall £££ for me to fork out, sadly, but not a bad fare offering. Guess this is as good as BA sales are going to get this year!

I'd take the holiday option for a £450 deposit and throw away one night car rental

I'd enjoy the direct CPT and enjoy the T3 lounge crawl more than the CCR

Noticeably cheaper if you go via BA Holidays with 'flight and car' - down to £1800ish with 7 days car rental included.

Booked - many thanks for this. I opted the A380 out is a nicer proposition even with the second hop, 747 direct back.

Done .. great deal indeed ... I was holding out for a J class sale expecting to have to do something indirect / positioning , but this is way better .. Only drawback is that it's not available before 1st Jan ( I would have taken it a few days earlier .. but hey ho , can't have everything ! )

I booked this today... Oops. As BA has a holiday deal until 10th July there's a discount on top for 'Holiday' bookings. Adding a car brings the price to £3582 total for a week. That's under £900 for a 12hr First seat. 480TP too.

Thanks for this. It seems such a good deal. I've just booked my first ever BA First trip. With a week's hotel added to the booking it makes it slightly cheaper than flight only at £3939. Very happy with that and excited to try First.

I got 11-18 Jan for £3602 with a weeks car hire.
JNB was showing up at an additonal £228 each way and was tempted as I love the 380 but Ive never don't the 747 in F before and even if those 747's are the oldest and saddest in the fleet its still 1A/K and CX F for me
