Was this a MR? I'd only consider doing a turn at AMD if I were to book this AMD-EWR fare.
Positioning flights are quite draining after a while especially at non hub airports ..
Thanks for the updates on AMD, are arrivals & departures segregate at the terminal (like HKG/BKK) or mixed like SIN/KUL?
If you had no checked bags, couldn't you go to the transfer area & entered the departure gates w/o clearing immigration?
Did you remember seeing an APEC lane? Or I guess applying for an eVisa should speed up the immigration process.
I've been mulling over this, I might book this for next summer. It'll be pretty tough not to have a checked bag when going to EWR from SIN tho'
Anyway the fares are available for certain date pairs in July 2019, seems like there is a 5 day min.
Fare in J is INR 164,500 (USD 2.4k / SGD 3.3k) + INR 2,000 more if you add a stopover in SIN on the inbound.

No this is not MR, just personal trip.
AMD arrival/departure is separate. So you have to clear Immigration when land.
Are you thinking to do AMD-SIN-AMD-EWR continuously? If you do, this is a really tiring itinerary!
I did SIN-AMD-SIN and that was quite bad since 5 hours flight time is not optimal for sleeping.

Thanks! I am planning to take SIN-AMD on a SIN-AMDvv ticket, then turn around for the AMD-EWR flight on a AMD-EWRvv ticket.
It's good to learn that Changi can issue the AMD-SIN paper boarding pass.
Wait, was your turn around on the same ticket? Or different ticket?

The whole process took a little under an hour. I got to the departure gate just as business-class passengers were being called for boarding. It was the outbound passport control that took the longest -- questioning was vigorous, and a superior in a back office had to give the OK before I was let through.

I did a SIN-AMD-SIN turnaround recently without the boarding pass. I was surprised to see an SQ agent on the jet bridge holding a sign with my name on it when I arrived. I guess I was flagged by the system, even though the reservations were separate. The agent escorted me through all the steps: inbound passport control, airport exit and reentry, SQ check-in, outbound passport control, and security screening. I think personal escorts are AMD's version of priority lines for premium passengers (I've had one before when departing AMD), so this was an extension of that service.

Just curious what sort of personal trip would involve a turnaround at AMD unless it was a positioning flight like what I'm planning -
SIN / KUL - AMD (either turnaround or a night-stop to be safe) - SIN - EWR - xSIN/KUL (STOPOVER) - AMD (LATER DATE OR THROWAWAY)
It's not so tiring since SIN-EWR is such a looong flight that I'll hv plenty of time to rest, as one can only watch so many movies onboard
If I include a night stop in AMD then it'll be more relaxed, not sure if I'd wanna do that tho'
Lastly, the PEY fare for SIN-EWR is S$2.2k & that IMO is a really reasonable amount, coupled with the 2 QR trips to the US in J in the next 8 mths which costs S$500-S$700 less than this AMD fare is the reason why I'm not rushing to ticket this.

I did SIN-AMD turnaround as mentioned previously. I would also throwaway last portion SIN-AMD.
If you are checking baggage ex-SIN/KUL, SQ turnaround may be too tight as baggage handler in AMD is slow.

FWIW I just booked AMD-SIN on 18 June and SIN-EWR on 20 June and the price for 4 was $5,112 total! Already will be in the middle east on an award reservation in CAI and only need to get the connector between CAI and AMD. Very excited to try the new A350 product. Debating whether to spend a day in AMD or not. Priced it via Google Flights and then booked on Amex Travel's India site. All US-based sites would not show it and SQ US agents could not see the fare. Also SQ india site could book the direct but not the stopover. Now looking forward to almost 36 hours in Singapore and then 18+ hours on the new bird! Good luck to all who seek this unicorn of a fare.
