That is exactly I found 2 weeks ago, and still alive, i may book it, adding 1000 usd extra return leg would be via FRA SIN AMD in A380 upto SIN

Assume it does not work the other way around - e.g. EWR-SIN-AMD?
I may try to create RTW itinerary out of this. Getting myself to AMD eastbound from US via Europe, and pickup this fare from AMD.

It's possible in major airports like Mumbai and Delhi. Ahmedabad, on the other hand, has limited number of int'l flights and it's very unlikely if anyone has ever done a transit as int'l to int'l here, if not never. However, as someone commented above, may be SQ ground staff can look after this issue.

The fly in the ointment is that you are not an international transit passenger under the strict definition of the term. Immigration folk can be sticklers for this type of thing. You are returning directly to your origin, not to a third country.
This creates potential problems at AMD, and an intractable one at Singapore - if your passport requires an Indian visa, they'll want to see one before letting you on the aircraft.
Far better to splash out on a visa and a healthy connection time in india. Look on it as another opportunity to visit a fascinating country.
Positioning flights, visas and overnight stays are the additional costs that pile onto these fares to make them less attractive than the headline fare.

I get that business reasoning, but I wonder why it is that I very rarely see premium deals on FlyerTalk originating from SIN (even from other airlines)?

Singapore joins NZ and Australia in getting very little love from low fares. Dunno why. Perhaps its an oligarchy not wanting to rock boats, scared of what competition could do....

Edit: Will need to apply for an e-Visa online. Either way, will do this to make sure i'm covered.

You can still get GCK to MXP for just over $2000 most days on QR (ORD just over $3100 for CGK to ORD ... including flights on QSuites). No good for *A status but it earns OW status miles and is a decent cost per mile.

The Indian eVisa is easy to get and not a bad option, but I encourage anyone doing the international thing often to just get the 10 year visa (just like China). Especially if you like fascinating places and being able to take spontaneous trips. These are the two most populated countries in the world, by a long shot.
I had to get a new passport recently even, but I got my old one back which has my Chinese visa in it and it still has 7 years left on it. Nice to have options.

Booked an one-way from AMD to EWR via SIN next year.
To position, I think I will redeem from AS an one-way ticket on EK: JFK-DXB-AMD.
