United only goes out 330 days. I would have preferred them but by the time July 31 is released the sale will be over. Supposedly last day to book is Aug 13
Which brings up the question no one seems to know the answer to. Why would United want to put theselves in a 30 day disadvantge.? What is the reasoning behind all the different release dates? BA is 355 I think Virgin is 330.

OK, so I just checked on Google Flights.
Still seeing the sale prices for SFO-LHR, with the last day of the calendar being 7/10/19.
However, neither of the SFO-LHR daily nonstop flights are included in the sale price.
When I booked a few weeks ago for April and May, one of the nonstop flights was part of the sale.
Hoping this sale will keep going long enough that I can book a return towards the end of July.
Odd thing, SFO-LIS is even cheaper but there aren't as many dates for it. Maybe that's dwindling.
No signs of sale fares to MXP, which is what I really want. But worst case, I'll buy separate tickets between LHR and Italy.

Good Luck. I hope you get it. I would have rather flown United but went with Lufthansa since I was able to book July 30th last Saturday.Still puzzled while all the airlines dont release the same date. Would seem some business might be lost because of this.Maybe not much. Not many book a year in advance.
i am seeing United outbto ajuly 17 withbdirect flights being included in sale. Clear your history and cookies. Sometimes you wont get the currentbinfo if you have been there too many times

I have just booked BA for ~$2550 in June, so the fare still exists, at least as of 2 days ago. But checking a bit later on (although still less than 330 days in advance), Google flights is still finding it at $2566 on BA and inexplicably, $200 more on United. $3877 on Virgin.

There is no "ticket must be issued by" or similar language in the fare rules. And even if there were, there's no guarantee that they'd leave the fare in tact until that last date.

This one has held for quite a while with intermittent avail. LHR-SFO-LHR for $2K disappears for a bit and then comes back, it's back now.
For folks who go to Europe a lot, try sandwiching some LHR-SFO-LHR within a long timespan SFO-LHR-SFO. I go to Europe every two months, so for example:
Ticket 1 SFO-LHR October 2 $2500
..Ticket 2 LHR-SFO October 9 $2000
..Ticket 2 SFO-LHR December 11
..Ticket 3 LHR-SFO December 18 $2000
..Ticket 3 SFO-LHR February 5
..Ticket 4 LHR-SFO February 12 $2000
..Ticket 4 SFO-LHR April 2
Ticket 1 LHR-SFO April 9
This gets you 4 RTs from SFO to LHR at $2125 each.

A few years ago it was the other way around. lots of deals ex-US, very few ex-EU. I have no idea why but with the sandwich you can have it both ways.
