I saw the fare outbound daily from midweek, return Sunday and Monday. Didn't look at other dates.

Midweek departure (including Thursday) can be had for just a little over $2K from many NA cities. Not sure about PHX. This deal has been around for a while.

$2800 (or so) fare available on all three legacies PHX-PEK. Unfortunately, the main DL routing is via SEA on a 767 . . . no thanks.

Pretty good for Phoenix! I often position to LAX for J fares or else I'm looking at $4k+ for most routes. I paid $2700 oneway to Shanghai recently so I'd consider this a bargain. Heck, I've been thinking about flying domestic F to the east coast and it's $1200 for Labor day weekend (relevant as it's a holiday weekend also).
Edit: Matrix shows fares like this into July with mid-week departures.
