WAS-ATH Sky Team: $ 2127
AirFrance metal on way out (though some routes offer the 787) but it's possible to get Delta metal on return for a little extra.

This Air France ticketed fare has been around for a while (on and off) I am in Athens on it right now - flew DCA-JFK-ATH on DL metal (prefer the long flight to the middle of the night connection) and had an AF return ATH-CDG-IAD.
But my wife wanted to stay and hit another island so for $430 each yesterday we changed our return to Sunday on DL metal again ATH-JFK-DCA. It's a longish layover in JFK but at least the DL product will have upgraded from the ancient 767 we took over to the herringbone 330 on the way back....

Honestly it is not like WAS gets a lot of love either most of the time.
As noted by others this has been around on and off across the alliances for months. I am doing this early next year on BA. I bought a J ticket and used AARP discount but made sure their was upgrade availability to F on BA and upgraded using Avios immediately after booking. I would not chose BA J even with the AARP discount since you have to pay for seat selection unless elite and seat selection is critically important with BA's high variable J seats (first world problems I know).

I don't think SkyTeam has had it for months. I haven't seen it at least. Maybe the other alliances. Or maybe I just didn't see. I couldn't find any Delta metal on the way over. But i did find the direct DL flight back from ATH to JFK. That's great as no hopping those short "regional" flights on KLM or AF with those tiny economy seats in biz class. Also it's on the A330. You're right: the ancient 767 just sucks. I can never sleep well in that seat. And don't get me started on the seat width...

Since this is a SkyTeam thread, not sure this belongs here?

i wasn't aware SkyTeam was a part of this fare the past few months. I'm fine with the poster's link remaining on this thread.

I flew this deal end of April-May on Delta equipment. Deal still in place from all DC airports but best equipment (new AF Business class) will take you from DCA-JFK-CDG-ATH. Not interested in DL 767 or AF 380 older business classes. Fares still lower than $2200 including tax/fees. Be careful booking an AF 777 and don't assume it's the new BC product. I booked through ATL and once I was able to see the seating chart (after booking with AF), I noticed it was the old product. Called DL and had it changed within an hour to go through JFK with new Business class on 777
