If using GF it shows 922$, after selecting the individual flights price jumps up to $ 1'924. And that's exactly what ita matrix shows.

I'm not sure what is "new UL Business Class". The A330 on the DOH-CMB I recently experienced was an old and worn airplane, with seats stained a hideous green color. The leather stain itself was not even colorfast. When I set a wet washcloth on the arm rest, the washcloth turned green by the time a FA came to collect them.

Oh yes I had that on Thai Airways (TG) once, on the way from HKT to BKK in the nose of a 747. It actually didn’t bother me that much, just showed the aircraft was heavily used. Maybe I’m good at just not thinking too much about it!

I find the seats and service and food on the UL A330 to be just fine, at least for the CMB<>LHR flight I take most years. The plane they use for CMB<>BKK is older, without lie-flat seats, but is comfortable enough for a short flight. Service and food is also fine.

SriLankan A330-300 is new and pristine. A330-200 is aged, but lie-flat. I believe if Google Flights shows your A330 as having wifi then it's the A330-300, and the A330-200 if no wifi. That being said, equipment swaps can and will occur.
A320 is obviously a recliner seat.

Only you can decide if it's worth the cash, but yeah, that's not a short flight. Depends on your budget, how much you desire business vs. coach, your deal with sleep on planes (not sure the schedule).

I did the CMB-MEL last month on the A330-200. While the interior is certainly a little tired, it was comfortable enough to sleep easily when tired. The seats are lie-flat and comfortable, english video selection is okay, food was good, and I found the service to be excellent. If you go, try to get one of the center seats so you don't have to step over someone (or get stepped over) when using the lav.....

The UL A332S are fine. UL overall isnt a 5 Star airline which is why you get great prices on them. If you want lux, then go for another carrier, but the space and comfort are more than acceptable if youre not high maintenance. Along with MH, UL is often a cheap way to get status on your preferred OW carrier which I find well worth the money.

Thank you for all the above experience sharing.
Was looking into UL along with MH to MEL, and as I have no previous experience with the former, really would loved to hear about it from guys here. I had a feeling that MH is better, probably because of their new J class. But having read your experience, UL does seem solid given the price paid.

IFE TV screens and service - same as A330-300, absolutely fine, way better than economy but not at Qatar level of course. But then as pointed out you are probably paying less but getting the same tier points and avios, if that is your aim.
