It does price through at $1802 on Expedia. I did not try to purchase.

Just now, using the link in the OP, it priced at $2611 on Google Flights with a link to Expedia where it also priced at $2611.

I just tried the link to visit the CA site for pricing and it books out at $1750.56 USD, I was able to select several flight options for both CA and ZH for the PEK-PVG leg. Looks like some of the PEK-PVG flights book into fair code F (200% RDM) on ZH and book into A (200% RDM) on CA. The TPAC flights book into R (125% RDM).

Update:

I started playing with the CA website and for the same dates you can do NYC-PEK-PVG and back for a tad over $2500 USD.
