MF : LAX to SYD for $2623 USD in J
Only seems to work on a couple of days each month:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...LAX0MF829;sc=b This seems to book into I class which yields 130% on FlyingBlue or 100% on DL. There's a bit of a transit on the outbound but could easily fill the time with lounge hopping and/or visiting the transit hubs with the TWOV policy. Safe Travels, James |
Looks like it’s for MF rather than MH.

Why would MH earn on Skyteam carriers? |
Should be MF

MF=China Southern, and seems to be two stops with a domestic segment in China, visa issue.

MF is XiamenAir, MH is Malaysia Airlines. China Southern is CZ. And to avoid any other confusion, MU is China Eastern.

Thanks OP. Solid post.

This has been around for some time. I am booked to fly LAX-XMN-SYD (and return) in late April/early May. You can find options that avoid the extra stop in TAO and just connect once through XMN. MF also provides a transit hotel during the long layover in XMN.

I was looking at the China TWOV thread (link). If you expand the wiki it looks like both TAO and XMN are in the 72 hour TWOV program in China. For anyone considering this fare, I'd post on the TWOV thread and see if it would qualify as a TWOV eligible itinerary as you have an onward ticket to a third country.
Not trying to say it will qualify just that it is worth researching as it may save you the cost and bother of obtaining a visa. I've played around with travel dates and I have seen the $2623 fare for MF itineraries that only stop in XMN. But they have really long transit times in XMN (like 40 hours or more). |
