The AMS-JNB fare for ~£1500 has been around for while and is an excellent fare... roughly half the price of going direct from London on the same flight.

And combined with car hire (minimum 7 days or duration of stay if shorter), the price can be pushed down further. You can also get around advance purchase restrictions this way.

Yeah, having the same issues now. It's seemingly double. Which is a shame. Plan B!
EDIT: Seems to be related to WT+ fares not being loaded on BA.com, from what I can tell. Can't get AMS-LHR-CPT to price up over the Chrsitmas/NY period with that cabin, but everything else does.

Thanks OP. Hopefully book one of these for usual Xmas jaunt to CPT. Apply a Gold upgrade voucher and that is a 'cheap' F return to CPT instead of the £7k++ asking price.
