[PREM FARE GONE] Aeromexico US-SCL J $1,000(ish)

Have just seen from The Flight Deal that Aeromexico is offering $1,000 fares in I (biz). The link below indicates this is from JFK, but I seen it available from other airports (I searched from MCO).

https://www.theflightdeal.com/2017/12/15/business-class-aeromexico-1012-new-york-santiago-chile-roundtrip-including-all-taxes/

Surely $1,000 is an error fare, but worth highlighting here anyway.

i wish this was available from the west coast. best i am seeing is 1500ish from SFO to EZE, but with fairly miserable connecting options. best hope at this point is that some other airline stupidly matches.

Agree the timing isn't great. I booked MCO-MEX-SCL, which unfortunately requires an overnight in Mexico City. At like $3,000 better than the alternative*, I can put up with it. LATAM/AA wanted $4k and United was higher (even though their J cabin seems to be empty).

I'm hoping that JJ or UA come down - even if they don't fully match this price.

*flights where sleeping is actually an option - ie 7+ hours with a flat bed. So, no Avianca, Copa, or the dang TAM 777.

Booked two of these through JustFly.com...anyone ever used them before? Hoping this sticks, it's a lot of DL MQMs and MQDs! Although I think Aeromexico is one of the worst SkyTeam carriers.

I'm seeing some AM flights showing up on GF and Expedia out of SEA for ~$1,600. Not as good as the JFK deal but still a decent price

By the way, JustFly.com comes in at $1,018, which is cheaper than other OTAs.

STEVE HOLT!

But why assume it is an error fare? Avianca is only slightly more. This is a good ROI with EQD on DL. Noticed can be same day turn and all in 787 if you are okay with a long layover in MEX on outbound.

...not that I'm buying it.

Long layover - it's ~14 hours (would really require a hotel as it's overnight).

Well - yea, fine. I don't know how to tell when it's an error. But Secret Flying has just posted the LAX-LIM fare of $615 in J as an "error fare" ... seems like a coincidence that this appears at the same time ....

AV's JFK-LIM at $660 is still there, with the catch of connecting through UIO. Why do people keep calling it error fare?

This JFK-SCL is one heck of the deal, not just from pricing standpoint, but for the fact that MEX-SCL is on Dreamliner and the timing is perfect and saves 2 nights of hotels, nor does it require overnight stays at MEX (barring IIROP)

Bought this and debating whether to keep it - is 2h40m on the JFK-MEX-SCL outbound and 3h20m on the SCL-MEX-JFK return long enough to transit MEX?

JFK-MEX is 3 - 7 pm

I booked this overnight option as I rather explore MEX than JFK.

MEX-JFK is 7am - 2pm

You'll only have 2 hours to connect, too risky based on previous travelers' feedback so I book another flight later at 9am, it's a short flight during the day so I don't really need to sleep.
