Ci: Lax - sgn/bkk o/w $990

Hi, not exactly sure if this is a good fare for BIZ but LAX-TPE-SGN or BKK is showing up at $990 one way with China Airlines

I searched on google flights for Nov 5.

Nice find.

Also available from YVR (A350) and SFO and to a lot of SE Asia destinations.

Very limited dates in Nov/Dec though.

Edit:
Hmmm...on closer look it seems like it's booking into Premium Economy

Looks like a mapping error. GF shows First Class on the long haul which is only available on their 747 (not sure if CI still flies the plane on this route). This books into A which was originally assigned to First class cabin but has since remapped to Premium Economy.

Earlier today I stumbled on this from Asia to the US as one-way and return. I saw the First fare but based on the website the 747s are no longer used, thus there's no First cabin.
HAN-LAX was what I saw first as one-way. TPE-LAX is available for $1500 return.

The more expensive fares are not route based but MPM based and might allow using other carriers. I didn't investigate further, though.

Interesting that this can be booked as ~US$925 one way, or ~US$1550 round trip, from NA to quite a few destinations with the first leg in Y+ and the connecting flight in J (seems to book U/B basis for the cheapest fares and A/D basis for the second-cheapest fares).

I'm new to SkyTeam, so this post introduced me to some fun routing options.

Thanks OP!

Lots of options for your final destination: LAX-TPE-NRT/HKG/SGN/BKK/SIN (and probably others)

Here's a RT example LAX-TPE-NRT-TPE-LAX.

Fare codes U and A are premium economy.

Premium economy class: W/U A/E

You might arrive at checkin and find yourself ticketed in PE.

This fare is a mapping error in Google Flights.

Not sure how great a fare that is. I JFK-TPE-BKK-tpe-JFK last month that I booked in April for $850 rt. Jfk-tpe was in d (pe), tpe-bkk was in e (biz).
