There is a very consistent availability of W (premium economy fares) from GOT/OSL/CPH/ARN to most destinations in North America.

These are DIF (dual inventory fares) Extract from Raffles HfP website

"Dual Inventory Fares are an interesting British Airways pricing initiative. Put simply, it is a way of keeping a fixed gap between the prices of two different cabins.

British Airways doesn’t want the price gap between World Traveller and World Traveller Plus to get too big. If it did, people who would otherwise have paid a premium to upgrade will decide not to bother with World Traveller Plus. This costs BA money.

So, if economy flight prices are reduced to create a ‘too big’ gap between World Traveller and World Traveller Plus, ba.com will (and I am stripping out a lot of technical details here) automatically adjust the cheapest World Traveller Plus fare downwards.

This is actually a sensible business move by BA. The reason it is called a Dual Inventory Fare is because you are sold a hybrid ticket type which exists in the BA booking system as both WT and WTP – don’t worry, though, this has no impact on your Avios or tier points which credit as usual."

Yes he did. It is a bit annoying tho to keep seeing PE here ... that's not "premium" travel in my book. I wonder whether the MR thread wouldn't be a better place for "deals" such as this one

But then $780 is likely to be an error fare if in J or F.

Except that BA (and CX, CI, BR, etc) are not DL C+ PE nor CA's bulkhead row "PE." So, it has better comfort than Y at a reasonable price and added benefits, slim but then better than Y which is confined to the MR forum. Not to mention that MR's in PE seem to be a sweet spot for AA and BA enthusiasts. Plus with UPG options, well, they belong in this forum or a separate intermediate one.

Of course, these BA PE fares ex-ARN/GOT/OSL have been around for some time.

If PE is not your thing, move on.

I was wondering why I couldn't ticket that HU FC BKK-PEK-LAS RT that keeps popping up on GF for US$700 to $1000.

From line one of the forum rules:

Fares in cabins or classes of service that are separate from and above normal Economy cabin travel shall be posted in this forum. This includes the cabins normally referred to as either:

First
Business
or
Premium Economy

"Economy Plus" where some rows of the economy cabin have more legroom and possibly more recline - but are otherwise identical to other seating in Economy - is not considered Premium Cabin Travel.

If you aren't interested in PE deals, just scroll past the thread - problem solved.

This is actually a pretty solid deal:

If I've done the math correctly, upgrading both longhaul segments should cost 50,000 avios.
At the same time, BA is running a double avios promotion, so - depending on your status - , you should earn between 17,374 and 29,390 avios back (based on GOT-LHR-SFO-LHR-GOT).

Good enough for me to consider it at least.
Thanks to the OP!

And this forum is for "premium economy" as well.
If you don't like that, ask an administrator to create a seperate forum.

Good deal, especially as AA earnings are very close to business class.

Love the PE deals in here.
