No Saudi visa required as long as you do not leave the airport. Not ideal connections though I admit.

CMB has 48h free transit visa or paid for $25.

this particular trip has a domestic transfer.
transit visa free only if less than 12 hours connection, and no domestic sector.

it seems that a lot of deal on SV fail... (maybe i didnt try hard). There are reports that people get schedule change from <12 hrs to over 12 hrs and have trouble getting visa.

but it is a good price if one needs to head to europe

Ah ok - domestic sector seems a problem indeed - other trips for the same price connect via MLE. Did not know that 12+ connections need a visa. That;s a big issue. Oh well.

The above are typical Saudi Airlines issues with most of their tickets.

Just keep your connection to under 12 hours and you will be fine. In actuality, Saudi airports are not nice places to stay much more than 12 hours anyway.

I fly MXP-CGK for around $570 USD business class as a habit whenever I need to fly from Europe to Asia. This CMB-CDG fare is very good.

I checked some random dates and do not see any prices in this range. Which airline / alliance / transfers should I search for? Can you give me some pointers on how to find these MXP-CGK fares?

There are other Saudi fares in this price range FROM Geneva to the likes of Delhi, KL, Jakarta.

787 on the leg to KL. A330 & 777s on other routes.
a320 from Geneva.

Just remember it's a dry airline and you need to be rather conservative.
