Malaysia Airlines : Taipei - KL $362 RT

- seems to be a promo on MH website only, likely works both ways

- books into Z/D

- direct is on 737, not sure if other routes are available

$384 if you extend it to PEN, yielding 360TP for BAEC.

Also available TPE-SIN for very attractive rates:

One-way TWD8,380 / USD279
Return TWD11,761 / USD391

Books into Z on TPE-KUL and D on KUL-SIN. Both flights on 737, which is fine given they are not terribly long.

Yields 40 CP one-way in CX MCP or 180 TP in BAEC.

Awesome fare. These seem to be pricing the return ticket at the cost of a one way according to these deals: https://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/...f-the-day.html

Lots of other destinations available.

Dragon Air/Cathay are offering a similar deal. As OW Emerald, I selected this route since I'll earn more QR miles and qualifying points, plus, I can check out Cathay's first class lounge in Hong Kong. I've got the time to spend, so I hope it makes for a good experience.

Where are you seeing this? The lowest I can find on CX is NT$19k.

Where are they offering it? Certainly not on their website or any of the major OTAs.

Well, I first found a base rate of $341USD KUL-HKG-TPE return through google flights by selecting 'OneWorld' as the airline option for my dates in December. From there, I went to the Dragon/Cathay website and I ended up paying roughly $400USD for the return flights to ensure my QR account would credit me miles and qualifying points.
Hope the above help! :-)

Not really, this is an ex-TPE fare. Nor do I see $400 flights on CX in either direction.

With regret, my dyslexia got the better of me :/ My flight pricing was KUL-HKG-TPE while the OP was looking for TPE-KUL. Indeed, if starting from Taipei, the Dragon/Cathay prices are huge, while Malaysia is much more reasonable and direct too!
Again, sorry for the confusion!

So you found an economy class fare with a different port of origin... No, it doesn't help.
