I was hoping to use the deal to help position to SGN for the QR flights, but it doesn't look like CKG/CTU-SGN can be very easily or cheaply done :( .

Lovely 45k miles for me as MVP gold. This can allow me take a free trip from Shenzhen/Hong Kong to Xinjiang China on HU J class RT award. 30K EQM is an instant MVP status itself. However if you dont have intention for a trip, this fare is not good especially for MR since 4.8 cents/mile is a bit over
