Seeing this in late October, didn't really check the fare rules.

Both OW and ST options. Probably some other airports included on both ends (hint, IAH) and maybe *A options if you start elsewhere?

These fares come and go. More often, it's $3500 and up.

Can't get the BA AARP discounts to work on a June / July 2018 booking, but prices still look very good.

Return later than end of July

I see that the latest return date is 28th of July. Is there a way to extend this?

Most airlines do not allow bookings more than 330 days in advance which is why you are running into this. Going to be difficult to get around that.

I saw ORD-PHL-BUD and back around 11:00 AM (GMT-5:00) on AA for $2100. It changed to $2600 by 1:30 PM. Should have booked when I first saw it. Actually all of OW seemed to jump from $2100 to around $2600 at that time.

But I was able to get ORD-BUD on UA codeshares on LX metal for next June for $2100. Lots of availability at and below $2100 for BUD, OTP and SOF from ORD on UA codeshare tickets (LX, LH and OS metal).

In order to make all your subsequent flights seem better in comparison?

LAX-OTP is about $2300 most dates, and you can take it down to $2100 with the visa 10% discount.

This was $1900 a couple of weeks ago (and then down to $1700 with the discount), but it only lasted a couple of days.
