No F product on HA, it's a J product. Not a great J fare to China either unless you can do a stopover in HNL for free then it might be an attractive option to some people.

Far from a good fare. Business fares under $3K can be found all the time on China Eastern, or better airlines.

I'm glad it helped someone...but seriously, at 18.8cpm for business class.. this is a really poor deal. Not sure why the OP even posted it; it's not even first class

There are a host of other carriers that offer similar roundtrips for almost $1000 cheaper.

It's first class. Kindly see the attached image before sending over a tirade of insults.

Secondly I think this section is about posting a discounted premium fare and not necessarily one that gives you tons of miles.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Not trying to be insulting, but while the fare itself may be listed as a first class fare, you're essentially paying a premium to fly on flights that only offer a business class cabin (The Hawaiian Airlines and Asiana flights both do not have First Class, and the business class isn't even lie-flat on some)

So yeah, these are definitely business class flights, and there are tons of other options that are hundreds, if not a thousand dollars cheaper.

And to your point about good deals versus cost per mile, there's really no line that's drawn, but the deal should be at least good, in this case it sadly is not at least when compared to other carriers offerings and mileage earning.

You are right in pointing out that the deal isn't as good as many others. But as far as I am concerned it helped at least one person who posted about it and may be still others. I checked and saw there's a lie-flat bed on this one.

Can fly the same day in a lie-flat J seat (China Southern) doing the majority of your travel in one flight (JFK->CAN) with a short connection to NKG (2.25 hours) for $400 cheaper.

This is not a deal at all.

Lie-flat does not equal first-class and the legs from HNL-ICN and ICN-NKG both are just recliner seats as well.

However, it may be possible to find some creative routings in the fare rules that do allow flights with truly first class cabins, but I think you'd still be stuck on Hawaiian for most of the trip

While not a great fare (and definitely not First Class, despite what HA think), thank you for posting.

Side Note: If people make this a hostile place to post then over time less newbies will post. Some of the best deals have been posted by newbies, so lets all try to remain nice

^ As someone who generally benefits from people posting deals they find in this forum, I do feel it's important to keep the tone friendly - we are benefiting from someone's generosity. Some deals might work for you, some might not. If it doesn't, move along.

Now those are some liberal stopover rules I wonder if the routing rules allow for anything out of the ordinary or better metal too...
