Can be found on Google Flights. YVR-SFO on AC/UA metal, rest NH. Pity I stay halfway around the globe *sigh*

For fares departing Canada, please do not just quote prices in "$" without clarifying which currency it is.

USD1968 = CAD2660 which is okay, but not exceptional for YVR to Asia.

Caution: NRT-KUL is on 788, which means ANA recliner seat on a 7h flight.

789 flat beds on HND-KUL begins 30/7 so you could fly YVR-HND-KUL ;)

Good point - did not think about HND transfer.

This is actually an AC fare, not an NH fare, and not your run of the mill discount biz class fare. Allows 1 free stopover (not to exceed 14 days) and other stopovers for $100. Also, allows a large number of AC coded flights across the water and then many carriers once in Asia (JL, KE, OZ, CX...)
No minimum stay, so also easy to use this as a tag on of extra miles to SE Asia when your destination is actually N Asia (just do a quick turn in KUL).

Actually I think the example the OP posted is an NH fare as NH is the primary carrier - AC and UA also offer the same fares, slightly different routings though. Reasonable fare nonetheless. Also similar fares YVR to SIN,BKK,TPE, SGN,MNL as posted in other threads.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks Argonaut. It did price perfectly on the NH website but forgot to mention that for the benefit of other readers here.

This is a good fare IMO since it is also good at Christmas time (although availability has been drying up since I first looked into it last week). Booked one of the routing variants YVR-BKK for the family at Christmas.

Good fare for the holidays, but been around for some time now.

I booked YVR-HND-KUL/SIN-TPE-YVR during Xmas holidays with stopovers in HND and TPE for ~$2000. Paid with AmEx points, ended up costing only 100k.

NH metal on the outbound and EVA/AC on the back. Routings on SQ were also possible.

Anyone knows if the fare applicable for stopover at HKG? I tried but it came up with a fare of $3500

No, didn't appear to be. Works for many other SEA destinations though (BKK, KUL, HKT, TYO, TPE, SIN, etc.)

The UA and AC versions of this fare are applicable for a stopover at HKG, but the NH version is not.

SFO_FT Jun 13, 2017 11:16 am

While the fare allows for a HKG stopover, a HIP check applies as well, so it prices at US$3500 or so.

i dont think so. The UA fare is a routing based fare, it specifies a couple dozen allowable routings and specifically states HIP is not applicable as it is a routing based fare ("ROUTING FARES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR HIP CHECKS"). The AC fare is MPM based but also has a HIP exception (rules say "HIP surcharge should be ignored") and in theory should allow transit thru (and thus a free stopover in) HKG. The NH fare doesnt appear to allow routing thru HKG.
