Yeah that stubbornness which cause them to lose a lot of customers, who are price sensitive, to the ME3 probably is over @:-)

For Japan, the rate seemingly prevails only if you select the CMB-SIN leg on MI. Think it's more of filling that flight that they're concerned with.

Also seeing CMB-SIN-DPS (Bali) from $436, also Silk on 1 outbound leg, but both return legs possible on SQ on some dates (e.g. 2-9th aug)

KarlPedal May 30, 2017 2:28 pm

..as well as CMB-SIN-BNE (Brisbane) for $1158 R/T

At least you are able to do SQ on the way back.

MI to SIN, while you don't get *A miles, but at least the timing is better than the SQ red eye to SIN.

Seriously. The Silk fares I see are unreal high usually. Like more than Cathay Dragon as a comparison point.

I know they own Tiger and Scoot, so of course they have to be more than those as those ones compete with AirAsia, etc -- but the price is usually 3-5x.

They are so stubborn on their prices it baffles me. If they get it, more power to them ... it just seems like they aren't getting it perhaps like they once did.

To fill the plane due to people dropping the last leg from their CMB-LAX/SFO fares, perhaps... :p

Unable to price Tokyo for US$800+, clicking the link to the SQ web brings up the price to around $2K. Found the $800 fare through ITA too but unable to price with bookwithmatrix OTA options such as priceline nor flightnetwork.

CMB-CGK via SIN works Also

Hmmmm, ME3 is a tough one - competing on price vs. below-cost pricing strategy would be challenging. :(

SIA do have Scoot to go after this end of the market though.
