TG: FCO-MEL/SYD $2350rt

Stumbled onto this fare, looks like lay flat the whole way if you go to Melbourne, angle-flat on old 747s if you fly to Sydney.

Stopover BKK seems possible.

Great fare. I believe it works from MXP too.

The 772s that fly the BKK - MEL route are not fully horizontal flat beds, they are angled.

I believe TG will eventually fly the A350 regularly to MEL. It's been a long standing drama, and knowing TG I wouldn't bet on anything, but there's technically hope on that route in the future.

Unfortunately the BKK-SYD route is not a good hard product. Unless you're dying to get more flights on the Queen in before she retires, I'd probably skip that one.

Some of the 772/773's have been refitted with the new lie flat seat and usually operate one of the two daily flights. Just a case of hunting them out on Google Flights.

It's a great fare indeed.
Has been around though for almost half a year nonstop, and is supposed to be available for purchase way into 2018, so don't stress too much about booking it. Auckland works too and stopovers / open jaws are possible.
