Very nice. Do the dates/times right, and you can avoid Delta metal. I'll take a Virgin Atlantic 787 and A330 over Delta 767.

Domestic to International is not a great experience...I've done it and survived, but I don't want to do it again (then again that is my attitude about all of India sadly). But I assume this would be an international to international transit, which is supposedly a bit better as mentioned above by SkyTeem.

Routing is CMB-BOM-LHR-JFK.
All flights available as DL flight numbers.
Potentially useful to DL/Skyteam members.
CMB-BOM & BOM-LHR operated by 9W. LHR-JFK operated by DL.
CMB-BOM = 73H
BOM-LHR = 77W
LHR-JFK = 764
Variations of this fare through other Skyteam hubs (CDG/AMS) also available on certain dates, 9W operates to both CDG & AMS.
BOS is also available.
Not easily shown on Google Flights/ITA, but bookable on DL site.

KL fare is still filed, DL fare does appear to be gone, at least I was unable to find the DL fare in the GDS. Surprising, as these had both been around for a while and just seemed like the normal fare. So the answer is to book with the KL fare which has slightly different rules but is same price.
