Air India : FRA- SYD $2,240 RT

- for Air India fans, all 787 on all legs

- can't determine booking class yet

- consolidators have the lowest prices

Nice fare.
However long stopover on the return in Delhi. IMHO for most countries a visum is needed to leave the airport.

Correct. US is $140 for a 10 year visa. eVisa is ~$50 for single entry for most nationalities.

Looks like this books into Z booking class (is bookable directly on Air India now for not much premium). Good for 200% on Aegean.

Dunno if the Air China FRA SYD deal is still working. But worth looking, it was around EUR1600

There is an international wing of the Holiday Inn Express in DEL T3.
Biz pax get a voucher for the night for the SYD - DEL - FRA segments, so you don't have to exit the international transit zone. The cabins of the B787 fleet aren't very well maintained. Wear and tear would we a huge understatement. On one leg they forgot to load the menus and apparently most of the food. The choice was vegetarian or chicken. To summarize the experience: Incredible India!

Unfortunately I have not see this deal, lately. It used to be EUR 1500 (Black Friday and Xmas Sales) or EUR 1600 (most recent sale).
