CX: Ord/JFK/EWR-MLE $1770-1900; mixed PE and J
Found this surfing google flights for a fare over July 4 holiday.
https://goo.gl/flights/D1ia ORD-HKG PE (R) o/n in HKG HKG-MLE (I) return is a short layover in HKG Avail starting late May - early August Orbitz $1774; Cathay shows $2800+ 23,000+ AA EQM, if I calculated correctly Seems to be in the heart of the rainy season. Anyone know how bad the rainy season is, other than wet....? first original post...hope this is right! |
32.3k EQM
|
Thanks for posting, nice price for very long haul Premium Economy (I was hoping it was a steal in Business Class!) 380 BA Tier Points too, more than halfway to Silver status.

Overall, Expect some rain most days, but also, long periods of sun. In short, hit or miss any given day. I have been to SE Asia many times in July/Aug. Some trips, for the entire trip, you would not know it was rainy season - sunshine and very little rain. Other trips, roads flooded and heavy storms every day. |
So it's premium economy ORD-HKG, business HKG-MLE. Seems like a deal!
Works out of JFK too for $1756. |
Thx for the feedback and the EQM correction. It's looking even better!

As long as the PE legs are in R, not E, I believe these can be upgraded to J using CX miles
Has anyone been able to book this at that price? Indeed, looks like a great deal. |

Orbitz appears to show R/I. |

Pretty sure it's 27.5k each way from ORD, as the HKG-MLE flights should already be in J. Haven't booked myself but FWIW this has been around for a while - I had it on hold in January for ~$1715/person but didn't pull the trigger. So I assume if it's been around this long it's real :)
I booked that day. Ticket is still good to go. Even made it through a 10 minute schedule change. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premi...700usd-rt.html |
I booked this in November and everything still looks good for my July flight.
It booked into (R) & (I) at the CX website. I think it's refundable too. |
Long Train Runnin and puchalskir - were you able to confirm an upgrade to J? (or not interested / haven't tried)
