YVR or YYC to Asia in BA, AY, CX under $2000 One way
 

Anyone departing from YVR or YYC to Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Finnair has a great deal!

1. YVR or YYC to LHR in BA 787 or 380
2. LHR to HEL in AY 350 or 320
3. HEL to SIN/HKG/BKK and some other Asian destinations in AY 350 (You can choose CX fleets to HKG-BKK.)

Travel date varies but there are many saver seats available on summer.

Those who like to book one-way, its a great fare as Finnair's one-way fare is always expensive than round-trip, you can try different fleets all at once and lots of miles earned:)

The problem is the A350 from LHR-HEL only runs in the morning, so you will have to overnight at LHR.

If you stopover in LHR, it will also be very expensive and you also get hit with the luxury tax.

Also mention that it's in CAD, as this works out to be around $1.5k USD

AY or joint-venture over Atlantic seem to be getting somewhat desperate. Grab those offers! Make AY suffer as much as possible. And get the miles and points.

The price from YYC is 2100CAD or 1500USD which you are right and from YVR it'll be 2600CAD or 1950USD. I've routed the fare from YVR-LHR-HEL-HKG-BKK which came out 2600CAD.

There are couple of flights to HEL on same day but it'll be narrow bodies. If someone's fine with narrow body, it's fine. I guess its all up to their decision whether to saty a night in LHR for A350 or to continue as same day journey on a320s.

By my calculations this would earn $2821 EQD on AA which isn't too bad for $1500 actual spend. Would also earn 1.5 x EQM.

Now, if I could only figure out how to get back to the US West coast in a similar fashion, then I'd have an complete run...

Finnair prices at $3811 for the same trip.

The problem with the JAL fare is that it is on the old angle flat on YVR-NRT and NRT-YVR, which JL stupidly put on their 787-8 order. But it is a good fare, also $300 gets you a stopover in NRT. You can also use anyone of the three daily flights between SIN and TYO (so the HND flights work too). Book by March 15 though and I think 7 day min and travel only certain days of the week. Full fare rules can easily be pulled up on EF or Matrix.

Similar fare has been around for a while on the AY codeshares out of YYZ to multiple SE Asian destinations. For example, for 1560 USD you can fly one-way to BKK via LHR & HEL (the YYZ-LHR is on BA). Tons of availability through Jan 2018.

Hardly a good deal. Roundtrip on AY (with some segments on BA or CX) has been available for <$3K for 18 months, perhaps longer. Examples (although some may no longer be available):
