Saudia (Skyteam Credit) LAX-JNB $3,162 in J

With the whole MQD thing now a factor it seems that more and more partner deals in J are worth it.

Although this has 8-9hr layovers in JED it still seems like a great fare.

With 24,000 flown miles, crediting to Delta would yield the following:

MQDs: $7,200

RDMs: 36,000 for no status with no bonus but a whopping 64,800 RDMs if DL DM with the 120% bonus.

MQMs: 18,000

Not bad for $3,162 as that gets you halfway to the spend requirement of DL DM.

Dates found in March on Google flights.

I think you may be reading the chart wrong. If it is a J class fare, operated and ticketed by Saudia, you would earn
MQD's 35% of the distance flown=8400.
MQMs at 100% = 24000
RDMs at 175% = 42000

MQMs earning under 100% on a business class fare would seem very unusual unless the fare class or airline earns nothing.

Not unusual at all. Saudia is a Group 2 Partner, so only the J class ticket earns 100% MQM. C,D and I fares also book into business, but only earn 75% MQM, which is the same for all five Group 2 partners. Same story for the eight Group 3 partners as well.

That is the chart from which I did my calculations. You are forgetting the Medallion Mileage Bonus on the right side of the chart for Delta Medallions. DM adds 120% RDM BONUS of the miles flown.

The MQMs would only be 75% of the 24,000 miles flown. I based this on the lowest Business Class fare class.

I don't drink alcohol. So I didn't factor that in.

Saudia is a decent proposition to those who 1) don't drink and 2) are able to reconcile themselves with Saudi's major issues.

And that was the confusion- your title and post say "in J", which was why I pointed out that a J fare earns differently than C, D and I fares, although they allow you to sit in business. Sorry for the nitpicking...
